Glossary - Life Expectancy

The average life expectancy is 66.4 years with a standard deviation of 12.0 years. The lowest life expectancy is 32.9 years (Swaziland) while the highest one is 81.8 years (Japan).

This number measures the estimates number of years a newborn baby will live. In the Country Scorecard an average number of the life expectancy of men and women is calculated. Usually the life expectancy of female and male differ while female tend to live longer than men.
