Sweden is a Northern European country and member of
the European Union. It has a population
of about 9 million inhabitants and is therefore a quite small country.
Due to the high living standard, i.e. a high GDP per capita, Sweden is
an important economic power. They have a very high economic activity
rate and a quite low unemployment rate.
The life expectancy in Sweden exceeds 80 years which is a very good
value. Part of that good result may be the excellent drinking water and
sanitation conditions and the low AIDS rate. However, the GHG emissions
per capita are quite high. Sweden has a good education system, with a
school life expectancy of 16 years and a very high tertiary education
