Spain is a large European country in Southern Europe and member of the European Union. It has a population of about 43 million inhabitants and an above average GDP per capita at PPP, making it to an important economic power in the world. On the other hand, the economic activity rate is not that good and also the unemployment rate is quite high.

With reaching almost 80 years, the life expectancy in Spain is very long. Also the HIV rate is quite low, while the GHG emissions per capita are quite high. The school life expectancy is very long and also the tertiary education enrolment rate is quite good.
