Portugal is a South-Western European country and member of the European Union. It has a population of 10.5 million inhabitants. The GDP per capita is above world average, making Portugal to quite a big economic power. The economic activity and unemployment rate are quite o.k.

The life expectancy is quite long and also the HIV rate is not that high. However, the GHG emissions are quite high. The school life expectancy is above average, while the tertiary education enrolment ratio is still far behind the top countries in that field.
