Germany is a country in central European country and one of the founding members of the European Union. Germany is a very large economy, ranked 5th, and a high GDP per capita. Despite that, the economic activity rate is quite low and the unemployment rate quite high.

Germans live more than 78 years on average, which is very long. Reasons may be the excellent drinking water coverage and the low HIV rate. Like so many developed countries, the GHG emissions are very high. There are just a few educational statistics available for Germany. An average school life expectancy of 16 years is very good.
