Sources: United Nations Statistics Division and World Bank
Estonia is a small country, both in terms of
population and area. It is member of the EU
and among the top 100 economic powers, in spite of the fact that the GDP
per capita does not reach world average. The economic activity rate is
o.k., but the unemployment rate is a bit high.
The life expectancy is not that good and also the HIV rate could be
lower. Furthermore, the greenhouse gas emission on a per capita basis
are very high. The education system seems to be very good. Although the
tertiary education enrolment ratio is not very high, but the school life
expectancy is very high. In addition, the literacy rate, for both adults
and youth, is very high.
