Brazil
Sources: United Nations Statistics Division and World Bank
Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world both
in terms of population (188.9 million inhabitants) and size. Although
the GDP per capita is low, due to the size of the population, Brazil is
an important economic power in the world. The economic activity rate is
quite good, while the unemployment rate is average.
A life expectancy of a little bit over 70 years is not that good. There
is also a lack of drinking water and appropriate sanitations conditions.
The HIV rate is not that high. The school life expectancy is above world
average and also the literacy rate for the youth is good. On the other
hand, the literacy rate for adults is not that high and also the
tertiary education enrolment rate is very low.
