Afghanistan
Sources: United Nations Statistics Division and World Bank
Afghanistan is an Asian country with a population of
31 million inhabitants. Due the unstable situation in recent years the
living standard is very low. Therefore, Afghanistan has a very low GDP
per capita.
Despite a very low HIV rate, the life expectancy is very low and the
drinking water and sanitation conditions are terrible. The education
system is not good either, with a very short school life expectancy, low
literacy rates for both adults and youth and a very low tertiary
education enrolment ratio.
